As I was rummaging through my craft closet the other day, and I came across two brand new window curtain panels. Hmmm….I thought, I wonder why I have these? Didn’t have a clue. But I did know what I could now use them for!
Recently I put a table that I took from another part of my yard in front of my new arbor {love, love this arbor! I purchased the arbor and chandelier at Urban Barn, a must go to place if you live close to the San Diego area} . The table was black so I painted it white but wasn’t satisfied with the all the metal going on. {seems to be a theme of mine} I knew I wanted a table cloth but didn’t know if it would blow off with the wind we have here. That is where the curtain panels came in handy, I could sew a table cloth for my table with them. If it didn’t work, what was I out right?
Of course I did the non-pro version of making a table cloth. I just laid one of the panels on top of the table for my template and just started cutting the fabric around the outer edge. Then I cut the second panel in half length wise and used my handy dandy ruffler and made the skirt {using the finished hem portion for the bottom…I am so lazy!} It works perfectly and because of it’s length I think, it will stay put with the wind.
Like the hydrangeas on the candle chandelier?
Another part of my re-purposing project. They are silk hydrangeas that I had laying around in my stash {my stash is pretty big and diversified like a good mutual fund} I just cut a small foam ball in half and stuck it on the candle holder and pushed the hydrangea stems into the foam.
I am thinking that I need to get a pretty hose holder now, {anther reason I wanted the table cloth, to hide the hose, but it isn’t really hiding it too much now is it?} Maybe add these throw pillows to the seats. Oh and some pea gravel or something to spruce up that dirt and hide the weeds. Projects…they never end.
Thought I would link up to Blue Cricket Design Show and Tell I love looking at everyone’s creative links on this site!
