I read A LOT of blogs…I mean A LOT..it takes me hours to read through them, but I love every single minute of it. And the good/bad thing about it is, I find new ones every day! Good because I so love reading blogs, bad, because I am afraid this might turn into a full time job! {hence why you don’t see a lot of posts from me, I am too busy reading other blogs to post on my own!} It is so inspiring to see all the crafty and inventive things women are doing all over the world, it never, ever ceases to amaze me.
One of my many favorite blogs is Mustard Seed Creations As I was reading through her blog a light bulb went off in my head. She uses a paint sprayer when she paints her furniture, a must have if you are doing a lot of furniture pieces she says. But what caught my attention was how she said it takes her 10 minutes to spray a dresser…wait..WHAT? 10 minutes, are you serious? Hmmm… I have a paint sprayer, for over 4 years now, and never used it. That motivated me to pull that puppy out and figure out how to use it. And that is just what I did this Sunday. And I must say…what in the world was I thinking letting that sprayer sit on a shelf for this long! It is amazing and fast.
Here is what I am spraying
A total of 6 of these. In fact I think they are identical to Miss Mustard Seed’s that she did here. {I swear I am not stalking her! But dang, she just has such great ideas, I can’t help but try to implement some of them into my own home} I got each chair at my local thrift shop for $7 each, a total of $42. My plan is to use them outside around a vintage wine barrel table I have had stored away waiting for a place to put it.
Another inspiration I got from Miss Mustard Seed, was her love for antique fans. Once I saw how she displayed them, I fell in love and knew I had to have one. I am sure I have seen a ton of these over the years but never gave them a second look. My sister was visiting last week and we were browsing some antique stores and I found an antique fan on sale for $18! So I snatched up the fan and a wooden dress form for $12 and put together a vignette of my treasures in my daughter’s room on her desk area.
I picked these cool books at Urban Barn a while back. I just loved the way the vendor took old books that probably would of been thrown away and made them into something so pretty.
Hopefully soon I will be posting my newly sprayed chairs around my wine barrel table!
