I love me some good hot chocolate, especially when it’s cold outside, which seems like for ever ago here in San Diego. I do a hot chocolate station every year at Christmas. Even though it is usually hot outside at Christmas in San Diego we all drink it as if it is blustering outside. Our way of making it seem like a wintery Christmas for a day.
I pretty much use what I have on hand and then embellish it with festive decorations
I also include hot apple cider in with the hot chocolate station using the mulling spices from Williams Sonoma {that stuff is the best!}. I used my sillhouette machine to make all the labels
I put the mugs in a tiered cupcake stand which I embellished with ribbon and bunting

I added fake snow to the bottom of the tiers with mini ornament lights. I loved how the battery operated mini lights lit up wrapped around the tiers, it was so festive.
I made the mini Christmas bunting from decorative ribbon, super duper easy to do. You just fold 1″ of ribbon in half and then cut the triangle and glue it to whatever string or ribbon you like. Quick and easy.
What’s hot chocolate without the marshmallows? I bought these marshmallows from Sweet Addict on Etsy and they were delicious! {I have bought a lot of candy and baked items in the past off of Etsy and have yet to be disappointed} They are in the shape of stars, and had a vanilla flavor. I put the marshmallows in bags using clear cellophane bags and then cut white contact paper to seal the tops. I added a strip of decorative tape to spruce them up. Again, super easy and quick.

And to top off the yummy marshmallows, I put some mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candy in a cute candy cane bowl with mini spoons

I purchased the white carafes at Target to hold the hot chocolate. I like that they are white because I can dress them up for any occasion. For the hot chocolate theme I just added red polka dot ribbon and some bakers twine
I will be doing another hot chocolate station again this year, but I think I might change out the colors a bit. Do you do a hot chocolate station at your house?

hey there! Happy to see your post pop up in my reader.
I don’t remember the last time I had hot chocolate….I only like it with marshmallows.
your station is adorable! Love all the added touches, you’re such a great hostess.
gail
Gail, you should treat yourself to a hot chocolate. Put a Hershey’s kisses in it with the marshmallow…yum! Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
I love this idea. I had some hot chocolate the other day and it was great!
The little framed signs are really cute.
Thanks Kelly. I got the little frames last year in the $1 section at Joann’s. Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
This is such a fantastic idea! I am going to have to think about where I could try this in our house. You are amazing.
Oh Chris, you are too kind. Amazing? Not even. Saw it on Pinterest lol Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
You are so adorable. Your hot chocolate station is so inviting and invokes such a cozy feeling. I love it!!
xo,
Jilly
Thanks Jilly! It is a great excuse to have chocolate
Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
This is such a cute idea! If we ever have a Christmas party I’m definitely trying this!
You’ll love it Ashley. And I guarantee you won’t be able to just have one cup! Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
Your station is too cute. I have got to try it!
Oh do it Julie! You won’t regret it. It so simple and fun to put together. There is no right or wrong to what you put out, it’s all about the chocolate in my book. Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
Stephanie that is just too cool! I’m actually drinking some hot cocoa right now! And you’re giving me some ideas for this holiday season- totally pinning this!
Oh I hope you do one Megan! It is always a hit in our household. Never seen so many people drink hot chocolate in one sitting….but you can’t help yourself because you want to try all the toppings and one cup just won’t do it. Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
I love it! I plan on doing a scaled down version to have up all winter for guests:)
What a great idea to have one all winter long for your guests. We don’t really get a “winter” here in San Diego…maybe I should do an Ice Tea one for our winter lol Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
Very cute!! Thanks for sharing your creativity. Another reason to have a party this season
. Question…any recs on where to find those cute mugs you have? I could use a few more…
Thanks Jess! The red and green mugs I got years ago at Target. They always have such cute mugs. HomeGoods, PierOne and World Market are another great source. This time of year there are plenty to be had! Good luck. Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
What kind of hot chocolate machine is that? It looks much classier than what I have seen….
The big silver container is what I used for our hot apple cider. It is a Delonghi 60 cup coffee maker for ground coffee. But I put my mulling spices inside instead. You could also use it for hot chocolate to keep it warm. I just put my hot chocolate in the white carafes.
Stephanie – do the carafes keep the hot chocolate warm?
Hi Sabrina, the carafes are like a thermos, so it keeps it relatively warm for awhile. Stephanie http://cre8tivedesignsinc.com/
This is SO cute!! Pinning!
