Martha does it again!
I have a love/hate relationship with Martha Stewart. Her Martha Stewart Living magazine and web site are FULL of inspiration and great ideas for decorating cooking and parties, which I love. But then sometimes I look at it all and think I am such a failure, so then I hate Martha {not really hate, but strongly dislike is a better word}. I have heard, that her daughter has said, that she loves her mom but… she gets on her nerves as well, with her tips, tricks and decorating. SO that makes me feel better.

Thanksgiving is over, Christmas shopping and decorating begins…didn’t we JUST do this? A year goes by way too fast doesn’t it?
I had a glitch last week during my wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, my camera up and broke! My right hand man is now stuck on the shutter release mode…boo hoo. Good thing is there are a lot of deals on new cameras right now to be had, so I am shopping for a newer one. I haven’t even looked into fixing my camera. Even though my Nikon is only 4 years old, it just seemed so ancient once I started looking at the newer models. I am asking my husband for a new one for Christmas. But an EARLY Christmas present, like next week early Christmas present, I can’t go a whole month without a camera!

Update: I figured out what time the finals for Apartment Therapy Color Contest ends. It ends on November 23rd at 3:00 eastern time. I am in second place, and it is a close competition. Pumpkin stamping
I got these small pumpkins at the farmers market for my Thanksgiving table. I had planned on cutting the tops off and putting fresh flowers in them. Once I put them on the table, I liked the way they look without the flowers.
Today, just for the heck of it, I wanted to see if I could stamp something on the front to spruce them up a bit, and it worked!

I am not Fall-ing behind this year
I set my goal to get my fall stuff out early this year. Christmas comes too fast, and it always seems that I just get my fall stuff up and the next week it is time to take it down. I accomplished my goal and now get to enjoy my fall decorations for a good two months
I used most of what I already had. I did buy some fall flowers for my urns and some realistic apples from Wal-mart to put in my apple basket
Since my front doors are so large, I added some height with an old chair for the scarecrow
A Hollywood sign finds a home
I have been procrastinating big time on this project. At least 3 years…or more.
It all started when I decided I did not like the flow of this bedroom at our river house. Even though I had drawn the furniture and lighting plan on paper during construction, once I got everything in the room it just felt off. So I physically moved things around until it felt right. Which totally screwed up my well thought out electrical plan, but at least the room felt more balanced now.
