When I saw this picture on Pam’s blog, Simple Details

I was in love. It’s wheat grass, which I had never heard of before and I thought it would be super cute to use for my Easter table. Pam gave awesome instructions on where to buy it and how to plant it, which is really simple and inexpensive. I already had the square bowls, all I needed was the grass seeds and dirt. I got the seeds all planted per Pam’s instructions, and was all excited to start seeing my seeds grow

Then it dawned on me, this was NOT going to work. You have to spray the seeds three times a day to make them grow. I am not good at remembering to water any of my plants let alone 3 times a day. I knew it was going to be a fail project already, so I went with plan “b”. try to find already grown wheat grass. I went to our local nursery, and asked if they had some wheat grass. They did. But it didn’t look anything like the picture. It was long and scraggly and looked like a weed. Darn. I browsed around some more and spotted these pretty plants

I think they are called Irish Moss {I threw the tag out so I am just guessing based on what I could find via google images}. I loved the texture of them and the tiny white flowers, a perfect alternative to the wheat grass ...continue to full post

I am going to slip away for a couple of days to our river house with my daughter Shannon. Much needed r & r, but we will be back to have our family Easter dinner on Sunday. I am running around like crazy trying to set my table and get the all the food for our Easter dinner before I leave. There are only 6 of us this year, but I still want to make the table and food special. Here is a sneak peak of what I have so far, I will have to finish it up like a mad woman when I get back.

I put some colorful plants in the planter at the front door and added a metal carrot stick

Pulled out the “faux” topiaries and added some real flowers in my ironstone pitcher for my kitchen island
I love the way the bunnies are looking up at the fresh flowers

Got most of my main table decorated, still need to add some more napkins and hopefully try putting flowers in the top of the apples {an idea I saw on a blog that I want to try, but we will see if I can actually get to it}
I just love decorating a table for Easter, all the bunnies and spring colors are so fun to look at

I added my HomeGoods banner to the chandelier that hangs over the dining room table. Just makes it so much more festive. ...continue to full post
