What’s It Gonna Bee?
We had a little fun family party this week. My daughter, Shannon and her husband, Nate, wanted to find out the sex of their baby before the baby is born. Which I was excited about because it makes it so much easier to do a nursery and have a baby shower when you know if it is a boy or girl. So to celebrate the good news and make it a little more interesting they decided to have a gender party the day they got the sonogram. Ever heard of a gender party? I know I hadn’t. It is a new idea for the expecting parents to share the news of the gender of their baby in a festive way. Some new parents seem to go overboard with actually sending out invitations, full on elaborate decorations and even have their guests bring gifts! Shannon and Nate kept it simple and just asked family members to come over to share the announcement of the exciting news of what they were having. And I decorated for them just a tad.
My Daughter’s Wedding
Well, today has been one year since my daughter got married. I will tell you that I worked non stop for 6 months pulling this wedding together. Sewing table toppers, 250 invites, menus, centerpieces, guest seating tickets, you name it I did it. {well not the cooking!} We had it at our home, ceremony and reception. Great right? Well, I forgot that after I volunteered to design the wedding and everything that went with it, I had to spruce up my yard! That was stressful, and I must admit, sometimes I wish we would of had it another venue. But you can’t find a place like ours, the view, and the sentimental value it holds to us as a family. So it was all worth it, and it was so beautiful. Here is a glimpse of their day {not all pictures are taken by a professional photographer, I just pulled together what I had quickly}

Flower Finds – Gifts for the Gals
Favors are a great way to show your guest that you appreciate them coming and sharing your special day. A nice little thank you for the guest to take home and also adds an element to complete your table setting. Using flower favors can add elegance to the table and also compliment a floral center piece.
