Great 4th of July food and drink recipes
Since 4th of July is this week I thought I would share some great recipes I recently made from my Pinterest boards. I tried these recipes on some friends that I had over last week, thank goodness they all turned out good, otherwise I would of been doomed.
Drinks
I have been pinning like crazy to my Bottoms Up! board that I was starting to think people might think I have a drinking problem. I was skeptical on how this alcoholic beverage was going to taste, mixing beer and tequila just didn’t sound right. But it was SO good. All my friends loved it, we drank every last drop of it. I am going to make this again for the 4th of July, it’s going to be so refreshing with the hot days we are having.
I added limes and cherries to the pitcher and put some in bowls to add to the drinks.
I put some wine one out for those who didn’t want the Margaritas. Using the mason jars for the Margaritas were the perfect compliment to the wine glasses I used
They are called “Redneck wine glasses” Aren’t they fun? Super easy to make too!
Here is a simple tutorial on how to make them. You can get the supplies at Wal-mart. {you don’t have to spray the lids with chalkboard paint, but it makes it fun}
I am not Fall-ing behind this year
I set my goal to get my fall stuff out early this year. Christmas comes too fast, and it always seems that I just get my fall stuff up and the next week it is time to take it down. I accomplished my goal and now get to enjoy my fall decorations for a good two months
I used most of what I already had. I did buy some fall flowers for my urns and some realistic apples from Wal-mart to put in my apple basket
Since my front doors are so large, I added some height with an old chair for the scarecrow
On the other side of my front door I used a step stool that my daughter Tara no longer needed for her old bed
I love the texture of these pumpkins I put in the basket and the punch of orange from the real pumpkin {$3.38 at Wal-mart!}
Now I can just sit back and enjoy fall. Feels good to be ahead of the game for once.
Have you started any fall decorating at your house?
I want to be a professional Pinner
I have found my calling, a professional pinner for Pinterest. Do you think there is such a thing? If there is, I am applying. I just can’t help myself, I pin, and pin and pin. But! I do put the excessive many hours of pinning to good use. My sister pinned this recently and put in the comment section “True. For my sister.haha!!!! I guess my family is concerned
I sometimes {or at least think I am going to} make or implement what I pin. Some of my friends and family members have made some recipes from what I have pinned, so I keep pinning so that they have lots of ideas to choose from. Yeah, it is a big sacrifice, but I do it for them…
Although…today I did use some of my Fall/Thanksgiving pins as inspiration for decorating.

My interpretation of the pin
I know they aren’t pumpkins, but I saw these cute ceramic candy corns at my friends store and it reminded me of them. I would of never of thought to use candy corn for a fall decoration, thank you Pinterest

My interpretation
I liked the idea of using a circle of texture, so I put a wheat grass wreath under my faux fall hydrangea arrangement that I sat on a silver tray.
