Have you ever heard of Stumbleupon? 

Well, I stumbled upon it one day {pun intended} and love how it works.  You just add stumbleupon to your tool bar and start stumbling on sites that you have interest in.  Like crafts, sewing, weddings, cooking… what ever tickles your fancy.  I even sometimes get geeky type sites that are out of my “norm” but actually find interesting.  You just keep clicking stumble button on your tool bar and it brings you to site after site after site of stuff you think is cool or not so cool.  If you like it, you give it a thumbs up, or if you don’t like it you give it a thumbs down.  Cheryl, at Tidymom did a great guest post at Crafterminds on how it works.   I don’t need to reinvent the wheel, so I will  just send you over to read the article here.  But come back because I want to tell you about my Tumble.

Ok, so now that you know how to stumble, I want to tell you how I take it one step further.  I got all curious one day when the Nester posted her Nest Files.  Hmmm…what a cool idea!  A place to put things that you see that catch your eye out in the World Wide Web.  I have thought about doing a weekly post on my blog about items or blogs that I found that I wanted to share.  But did you know that it takes me at least an hour and a half to do one post on my blog?  Yep, I would say writing it is not one of my strengths.   I read, re-read and insert for hours before I hit the publish button.  So between wanting to upload the perfect pictures for my blog, and my lack of quickly composing posts, I just know I would be in front of my computer for days just to do that one weekly feature.  But!  Now I can do it quickly and effortlessly via Tumblr.  That is how the Nester does it, and now I am doing it too.  Boy it is so easy to use, it is like setting up a blog, but very, very user friendly.

So now when I browse stumbleupon, or a web site or blog, I can easily hit the “share on tumblr” button on my tool bar.   With just a couple of keyboard strokes I can post about something that catches my eye to share with others.  {and it is a way to keep them all in one spot for myself} It is so fun!  And it doesn’t take me hours to do it.  Plus it puts the credit of the site right there in the post automatically.  No one is going to get their nose all bent out of shape because you didn’t give them credit.   So want to see some cool things I have found so far to put on there?

There is a follow me on Tumblr, but just so you know, I already have one follower, I am getting pretty popular already! {ok, it is only the administrator who is following me lol}.  I am going to put some type of button on my sidebar in the future and hopefully do a quick post once a week on what new things I have found for you to go check out.

I know that there are a lot of different ways to show and share things with other people, flikr, pinterest, facebook, twitter etc. but Tumblr so far has been the easiest and quickest site for me to use.

Oh, and by the way, anybody can get a Tumblr page, you might want to try it out, the platform is mainly for blogs, so it might be something to consider if you are unhappy with how your blog runs.  Me, I have invested a lot of time and money into my wordpress blog, but if I would of known about Tumblr prior to getting my wordpress, I might of looked into using it.  Ok, my hour and a half has way more than passed witting this post, so I am off  to go stumble and tumble.
