Are you kidding me?

You all know my passion is interior design, but I also love weddings and events. So in order to feed my addiction of all things weddings, I have an Etsy shop that I make and sell silk flower balls and bouquets. I love my little Etsy shop and working with brides.

The most amazing thing happened to my little Etsy shop today. I got an email this morning stating I was on the Etsy front page. Are you kidding me? I thought for sure it was some type of advertisement scam. I clicked on it just in case and it was legitimate! I can not tell you how loud I squeeled. Two years I have had my shop open and never once had I ever been on their front page. Not that I ever thought I would be, there are a TON of sellers with awesome creative items, but it has always been a secret dream to be on there.

I took a screen shot since I knew it would be gone in a couple of hours. I wanted to savor it for as long as I could

Mine is the third picture on the left, the white and green ranuncula flowers. It just made my day.

I also sent out my second international order today, {my first being to Japan} to the country of Azerbaijan. Never heard of it, have you? Here is where it is located.

So all in all, today was a GREAT day. I am still floating from it all.

Vintage Chic/Glamour Wedding Card Box

My friends daughter is getting married this weekend, and she had asked me to make a card box for the wedding. I had to come up with the style based on a little information her daughter told me what she was doing for the wedding. It sounded like vintage chic with lots of chandeliers and bling. Her colors were pink, taupe and creme. I always stress over how the bride will like the card box, I second guess myself over and over again in the design, it is totally ridiculous what I put my self through. Luckily for me the bride loved the box!

I used a LED battery operated chandelier on the top. (the battery pack is inside the lid and you just push the bottom of the chandelier to turn it on and off) I blinged the chandelier with the pink rhinestones. I had wanted to use the pink brooch on the front of the box but changed my mind and so rather than not use it, I added it to the flower arrangement on top.

I took the ribbon I used on the sides of the box and made a chandelier cord cover. To hang the chandelier I used an ornament holder and covered the base of it with the flowers.

I added the heart brooch on the other side of the arrangement to compliment the pink brooch

I wraped the boxes in burlap and added some crocheted trim and rhinestones.

I purchased the initials at our local scrapbooking store and the feet on the bottom box are knobs from anthropologie.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out, it really is pretty in person. I can’t wait to see it on the gift table at the wedding this weekend.

Peacock, Chandelier, Damask Wedding Card Box

As I was browsing through my iPhoto recently, I noticed that I have a lot of pictures of projects I have done that I have never shared on my blog. I mean A LOT! I am turning over new leaf today, and telling myself that at least once a week I need to post past projects I have previously done.

So for the first post, I am sharing a card box I did for a bride back in January. She wanted to use it for her engagement party in New York and for her wedding in May. She needed ASAP {like within a week} and she wanted to incorporate all of her theme into the box. Peacock, chandelier and damask. Yikes I thought, how in the hec am I going to pull that off?

Once I started pulling it together, I was pleasantly surprised on how all the elements flowed together.

The bride loved how it turned out and I was even able to express mail it to her in time for her engagement party. The chandelier even turns on and off! I have the battery pack inside the top box. You just push on the bottom of the chandelier and it turns on and off. Pretty darn cool don’t ya think? It is one of my favorite card boxes I have done. Sharing this with

My Daughter’s Wedding

Well, today has been one year since my daughter got married. I will tell you that I worked non stop for 6 months pulling this wedding together. Sewing table toppers, 250 invites, menus, centerpieces, guest seating tickets, you name it I did it. {well not the cooking!} We had it at our home, ceremony and reception. Great right? Well, I forgot that after I volunteered to design the wedding and everything that went with it, I had to spruce up my yard! That was stressful, and I must admit, sometimes I wish we would of had it another venue. But you can’t find a place like ours, the view, and the sentimental value it holds to us as a family. So it was all worth it, and it was so beautiful. Here is a glimpse of their day {not all pictures are taken by a professional photographer, I just pulled together what I had quickly}

Wondrous Weddings: Bird & Owl Toppers
